Job Title: Sheet Metal Technician

Position Type: Full-Time, Overtime as needed.

Salary: $20hr - $40hr
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Effective Date: 2023-05-18

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Technician to join our team. This role involves fabricating components from a variety of materials using different fabrication machines, following customer specifications and drawings. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of fabrication processes, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the execution of the company's Quality Management System.
• Set up and operate brake press, gap press, shearing machines, and abrasive jet machines.
• Use overcut charts to determine proper cut sizes and develop flat pattern templates.
• Create complex form tooling using CAD software.
• Ensure all parts meet specified dimensions by performing quality checks and verifying tooling.
• Move equipment and projects in and out of the work area using lifting equipment.
• Follow guidelines for maintaining digital manufacturing files.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Required).
• Continuing Studies or Certificates in relevant fields (Desired but not required).
• Previous experience in a similar role (Desired but not required).
• Valid Maryland driver’s license (Required).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently (Required).
• Organized, able to prioritize tasks and multi-task efficiently (Required).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 45 pounds.
• Regular exposure to moderate noise, mechanical parts, and occasional fumes or chemicals.
• Ability to perform tasks that may require standing, walking, climbing, and using hands and arms.
• Protective equipment, such as ear protection, may be required in certain work areas.
